1. Summary
GENDEC is an offline utility. It does not require an account, does not use the network, and does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information with the publisher or with any third party. Everything you enter stays on your device until you choose to share a generated PDF yourself.
2. Information we collect
None on our servers. The publisher does not operate any backend service. The app does not contain analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs.
The app does store the following locally on your device:
- Crew records you create — name, date of birth, passport number, and nationality. Stored only because you typed them into the Crew library.
- Aircraft records you create — registration, type, and operator name.
- Route and General Declaration history — From / Via / To ICAO codes, flight numbers, and dates of GDs you've generated.
- Generated PDFs — saved to the app's private cache directory.
All of the above is stored in a local SQLite database
(gd_extractor.db) and the app's private cache directory.
Both locations are sandboxed by Android to GENDEC alone.
3. How information is used
Locally stored data is used solely to populate new General Declaration forms — for example, autofilling crew details on the next flight you log. Data never leaves your device unless you explicitly share a generated PDF using Android's standard Share sheet, in which case the destination (your email client, messenger, or cloud drive) is governed by that app's own privacy policy.
4. Third-party services
GENDEC does not use any third-party services, analytics platforms, advertising networks, crash reporters, push-notification providers, or cloud-storage backends. The app makes no outbound network requests.
5. Permissions
The app requests no runtime or sensitive permissions. It does not access:
- The internet, network state, or any network-related capability
- The device location
- The camera or microphone
- Contacts, calendar, SMS, call logs, or accounts
- External storage outside of its own app-specific directory
6. Children's privacy
GENDEC is intended for licensed aviation professionals (target audience: 18 and older). The app is not directed at children, does not knowingly collect any information from children, and contains no advertising or in-app purchases.
7. Data retention and deletion
Locally stored data persists until you delete it. You can:
- Delete individual crew, aircraft, route, or GD records from within the app.
- Clear all GENDEC data via Android Settings → Apps → GENDEC → Storage → Clear storage.
- Uninstall the app, which removes the local database and cached PDFs in their entirety.
Because no personal data ever reaches the publisher, there is no server-side data to request, export, or erase.
8. Security
Local storage relies on Android's per-app sandbox, which isolates GENDEC's database and cache from other applications on the device. The publisher recommends enabling a screen lock and full-disk encryption (default on modern Android) to further protect crew and passport records.
9. International users
Because no information is transmitted off the device, no international data transfer occurs. Local storage takes place entirely within the jurisdiction where you, the user, hold the device.
10. Changes to this policy
Material changes to this policy will be reflected by updating the Effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after such a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
